If you want a roulette game on your wrist, take a look at this Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillion. It’s not the first time the glamour brand comes with roulette in a timepiece. In 2019 they revealed the Astronomia Casino, a tourbillon with automation which is still available for 620.000 US dollars. This new Casino Tourbillion is less than half of that, but first let’s look at this watch.
The timepiece displays a mini roulette game, complete with a spinning wheel, a ball, and 37 pockets. So there are 18 red, 18 black and 1 green pocket that can hold the white ceramic ball. But how does the Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillion work?
The Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillion is a technical masterpiece but wearing a roulette game around your wrist looks kind of over the top
The watch is housed in a 44-millimeter round polished gold case with a domed sapphire crystal top. There is a cubic button located at the 8 o’clock position and by pushing that the roulette wheel starts to spin. At an excessive rate, that is. The ball bounces between and around the polished wall of the center-dial and the black PVD flange with rhodium-plated diamond-shaped deflectors. After a while the ball will slowly lose its speed to end up in one of the pockets. Of course, you need to put the Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillion on a flat table to make it work properly.
Inside the watch is the manufacture Jacob & Co. JCAM51, a manual winding movement with a flying tourbillon at the back of the case providing 72 hours of power reserve. Winding and setting the time can be done by screw-like buttons on the case back. And the case itself can withstand 10 bar.
The Jacob & Co. Casino Tourbillion comes on a black alligator strap with a gold buckle and is limited edition to 101 pieces.
