The collaboration between Jacob & Co. and the Concepto Watch Factory leads to this Jacob & Co. Astronomia Revolution 4^th Dimension for Only Watch 2023. It takes its inspiration from the Astronomia Revolution version that was released earlier this year. But is has a complete upgrade with colored gems that connects to the color theme of the Only Watch 2023 edition.

This new piece of art by Jacob & Co. features a 47-millimeter rose gold case displaying a dial made of 35 colored gemstones. These are hessonite garnet, yellow citrine, blue sapphire, tsavorite, rhodolite garnet, topaz and pyrope garnet. All placed in a bespoke-cut pattern and positioned with its culet side up. That results in to a random design that is enlightened by the super domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment.

The tourbillon of the Jacob & Co. Astronomia Revolution 4^th Dimension has four axis

The two-armed movement spins around a central axis, once every minute. Then, the flying tourbillon is connected to three axes I a single carriage, and therefor has three kinds of rotation. The first axis rotates every 60 seconds. Then the tourbillon cage is also spinning, simultaneously to the satellite arm, with an interval of 18 seconds. And the third axis makes it spin every 15 seconds.

To obtain a constant force on rotating the tourbillon Jacob & Co. uses a newly developed constant force device. It features a whip-based torque regulation system with a frequency of 1 /6^th of a second. It releases it’s torque or power through a complicated process to the tourbillon carriage, just only enough to make it work perfectly. Which saves energy to drive the whole time piece and provides a power reserve of 36 hours.
