The first Navitimers were developed with and for the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) in the beginning of the 1950s. The original Navitimer reference 806 allowed pilots to calculate critical information, such as fuel consumption, airspeed, flight time and distance. All at a glance of course. That’s why Navitimers are quite big. This new Breitling Navitimer GMT Aurora Blue Limited Edition has all these features, and some modern updates and a new dial colour.

The Breitling Navitimer GMT Aurora Blue Limited Edition has all the classic features pilots want

The main feature for pilots to calculate is the circular bidirectional slide rule bezel. Breitling already introduced this on their Chronomat 10 years before they used it on the first Navitimers. It allows calculations to be made quick and efficient. The watch itself is based on Breitling’s latest Navitimer GMT, a 48-millimetre stainless steel model introduced in 2015.

Inside this 48-millimetre steel case is Breitling’s in-house self-winding B04 caliber. This powerful high-frequency movement is COSC certified and provides a 70-hour power reserve.

The Breitling Navitimer GMT Aurora Blue is limited to 1,000 pieces. And if you are a fan of the traditional Navitimer GMT you can always go for the ones with black or white dial.
