The Armin Strom Pure Resonance Ultimate Sapphire is the result of a collaboration between an Instagrammer, a jeweler and a watch brand. The Instagrammer is @Horomariobro, a watch lover from the US. The jeweler is Oster Jewelers from Denver, and for sure the watch brand is Armin Strom.
Horomariobro is known as the “King of Photography” as he photographs watches in such a way that you almost discover new parts. It’s so detailed, and he only uses his iPhone and a loupe. And when it comes to details, viewable details, Armin Strom is one of the top Swiss brands renewed for its advanced techniques, open-worked constructions and marvelous views in the bits and gears of their creations. It all leads to the wish of Horomariobro to create his own special Armin Strom, and Oster Jewelers – an Armin Strom dealer in Denver – offers him their support. They contact Armin Strom, start creating a special model and the result is a watch that AS puts on the market in a limited series of 10 pieces.
The Armin Strom Pure Resonance Ultimate Sapphire only has the brand’s logo on the back
The base of the Armin Strom Pure Resonance Ultimate Sapphire is the hand-wound caliber ARF16 with a power reserve of 48 hours. It is dressed in a 42-millimeter stainless steel case and has a sapphire dial, all in a monochrome color scheme. In order to make the design more minimalistic the seconds indication is skipped as well as the historical lip on the case. A feature of all Armin Strom watches which normally sits at the 6 o’clock position. Even the Armin Strom logo has been removed.
With its black PVD-coated gear train bridges, embellished with a grain d’ orge guilloché pattern by Karli Voutilainen, it is an interesting piece of haute horlogerie. Decorations are made in-house by Armin Strom; the edges, the skeletonized balance bridges and so on. And most especially the sandy part on the winding bridge on the right shows an elegant look acquired by one of the best engravers of Armin Strom. And take a look at the winding crown mechanism, which is partly visible on the front.
