The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar Platinum is the third model in the Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar collection. It was first launched in 2021 with timepieces housed in a white gold with a salmon dial, and a pink gold case with a grey dial. Now, the newest features a platinum case with a black dial, with a matching strap.
This model is just a complete evolution of the previous models. It still has the same case size of 41.9 millimeters, with a thickness of 12.1 millimeters. There is a big date near 11 o’clock and a retrograde day of the week indicator between 8 and 10 o’clock. The months are at the edge of the dial, depicted in a ring, and there is a tiny leap year indicator at 6 o’clock. Furthermore you will find a small seconds sub dial combined with a moon phase near 7 o’clock. The moon phase also indicates whether it is day or night. And like most moon phase complications on high-end watching, correcting is only needed about once every century. This needs to be corrected by one day after 122.6 years.
The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar Platinum has a power reserve of 50 hours
The dial itself is executed in black, and made of solid silver. And behind the dial, visible throught the transparent case back, is an automatic A. Lange & Söhne caliber L021.3. Despite all the complications it still delivers a sufficient power reserve of 50 hours. And its plates and bridges are made of untreated German silver and decorated with Glashütte ribbing, a traditional German watchmakers treatment.
The A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar Platinum comes on a black hand-stitched leather strap with a prong buckle in platinum.
