You might think that the Speake-Marin Ripples Infinity Date gives you a sort of eternal calendar, but it does not. The ‘Infinity’ part of the name refers to the neutral hue of silver on the dial with white-ish shades. Which stands for ‘purity, lightness and infinity’ according to the Swiss brand with British roots. So, an infinity-colored and styled dial with a date window.
The model is an addition to the Ripples series of Speake Marin when it comes to the color. The reference 604018040 was released earlier and is exactly the same, however almost full black. The ripples on the dial, twelve in total, form the signature of the series, which is inspired by the architecture of London’s financial district, the City. The heart-tipped hour hand is a symbol of London’s Big Ben and the small seconds counter at the unusual 1 o’clock location is another design feature.
The Speake-Marin Ripples Infinity Date has a power reserve of 52 hours
The stainless steel case measures 40.3 millimeters and inside beats the automatic Speake Marin caliber SMA03-TD. The entire mechanism is revealed at the back of the case, with rhodium-plated bridges with Côtes de Genève motif, a main plate with circular graining finish and integrated micro-rotor. The power reserve is 52 hours.
The Speake-Marin Ripples Infinity Date comes on a three-row integrated polished/brushed steel bracelet. This is secured with a folding buckle with the Speake Marin logo.
