A freshly styled and semi-colorful new set of Calatrava models is released: the Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 6007G. With the carbon-esque touches these three models look very racy yet distinguished. The latter as a result of the base dial design, which could be seen on earlier Calatrava models as well.

This 6007G – where G means white gold – comes in a 40-millimeter case with black dial and either yellow, red or blue accents. If you need to know which is which: reference 6007G-001 is yellow, reference 6007G-010 red and reference 6007G-011 blue. These colored accents are rather subtle: on the seconds hand and counters of the dial, the stitching of the leather strap and the lining of the strap.

The Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 6007G might attract a younger audience

To boost the sportiness the center of the dial has an embossed carbon motif, same for the strap. Again, very subtle but with this design these Calatrava’s step away from the somewhat bold design of most other models in the current Calatrava serie (est. 1932). The brand is attracting younger buyers so this might be an interesting offer for them. Especially because the price range is friendly (below 40k). For a Patek that is.

Inside the Patek Philippe Calatrava Ref. 6007G beats an in-house automatic caliber 26-330 S C (Seconde Centrale) with a power reserve of 45 hours at max. It offers hours and minutes, central seconds with stop function and a date at the 3 o’clock position. What more can you wish? Well…

How about a reference 6007A – which means a stainless steel version? Patek Philippe launched a 6007A-001 in 2020, which was a limited edition of 1,000 pieces with a dark blue dial. With carbon motif but without the extra colors. It went on sale for about $ 28,000 / € 26.000 so a non-limited version in steel could have a price of around 25k. Wishful thinking, we know, but for sure it would frighten some other brand.
