The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5164G is the newest Aquanaut Travel Time, this time executed in white gold. Which is for the first time since the Aquanaut Travel Time was unveiled in 2011. It is a very practical GMT timepiece with a date indication that is coupled with the local time.

This 5164G has a 40.8-millimeter white gold case in the renewed Aquanaut shape: rounded octagonal. And like all Aquanauts it has a textured dial with a checkerboard pattern, also called an Aquanaut pattern. Here the dial is executed in a blue-gray color. Let’s look at the functions.

How does the Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time work?

First there is the primary time display, which is the local time with hours, minutes and seconds. Adjust it when you travel to your current location. Then there is the second time zone, indicated by the skeletonized hour hand. You can move this hand, thus set another time zone, with the two pushers on the left side of the case, in steps of one hour forward or backward.

The date, indicated by hand at the 6 o’clock position, shows the local date. However to give you some extra feeling of what is going on with the daylight at both local and second time, there is a day/night indicator for both. So you will know whether it’s daytime or nighttime in the secondary time zone as well.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5164G has a power reserve of 35-45 hours

Inside runs the automatic Patek Philippe caliber 26‑330 S C FUS with a thickness of only 4.82 millimeters. A part of the mechanism, including a 21k gold rotor with Patek logo and some other components are revealed through its transparent case back. The power reserve is 35 to 45 hours.

The Patek Philippe Aquanaut Travel Time Ref. 5164G is fitted on a blue-gray strap made of a composite material. The color matches the dial and it is secured with a white gold fold-over clasp.
