And the cloisonné enamel dial features a steamboat cruising on Lake Geneva.

The first World Time Minute Repeater was released in 2017 at the Patek Philippe’s Art of Watches Grand Exhibition in New York. A limited edition of ten pieces: five with the Manhattan skyline during day time and five with the Manhattan skyline during night time. These have the references 5531R-010 and 5531R-011, both executed is rose gold. Later the 5531R-001 is released with a sailing boat on Lake Geneva.

The Patek Philippe 5531G-001 World Time Minute Repeater is part of a large family of historic world timers by the brand

In 2018 the reference 5531R-012 is launched, also with a rose gold case and depicting the Lavaux vineyard terraces on the shores of Lake Geneva on the dial. Limited to ten pieces. Then, in 2019, five pieces are launched during the Singapore Grand Exhibition depicting a map of Singapore with reference 5531R-013. And in 2023 the 5531R-014 is launched with a map of the Chuo ward in central Tokyo. As usual with Patek, the ‘R’ in the reference stands for rose gold. The ‘G’ for this new model for white gold.

The new Patek Philippe 5531G-001 World Time Minute Repeater has a 40.2-millimeter case with a 24-hour ring and day/night indication for all 24 time zones. The crown is positioned at the 3 o’clock position on the case, where you can set the time. The pusher at 2 o’clock is where you can set the chosen city for the local time. The button for the minute repeater is located at 9 o’clock where it always tinkles the local time whenever you activate it.

Inside all 5531’s is Patek’s automatic caliber R 27 HU that provides a maximum power reserve of 48 hours. The movement, with 22k gold micro-rotor, can be admired through the transparent case back.

Nice to know: classic world timers by Patek Philippe are most wanted. Three of them are in the top ten list of most expensive watches in the world.
