The Oris ProPilot GMT is a new addition to the ProPilot series. This aviation inspired series goes back to 1938 when the brand launches a pilot’s watch with a big crown. This was necessary for pilot’s in order to adjust their watch while wearing gloves. Over time Oris has created a lot of variations and today they still release big crown models, now with the Big Crown series, this ProPilot series and the ProPilot X series.

This new GMT has a 41.50-millimeter grey-PVD-plated stainless steel case. It also features a bezel with a pulsometer scale, used to measure heart rates. This links to partnerships that Oris has aeromedical organizations. The dial cannot be missed as it is executed in gradient red with applied indices and hands with super-luminova. The central hand with a red pointer is the GMT’s second time zone indicator. The watch also has a date function at 3 o’clock.

The Oris ProPilot GMT has a power reserve of 42 hours

To make it water resistant is has a screw-in crown and a screwed transparent mineral glass case back. Therefor it is water resistant up to 100 meters / 330 feet. At the heart of the ProPilot GMT beats an automatic Oris caliber 798 which can be admired through its case back. The power reserve is 42 hours.

The Oris ProPilot GMT comes on a black textile strap with red leather lining and Oris’s patented ‘Lift’ clasp. Which is inspired by commercial airliner seatbelt buckles.
