The Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster Bronze is another variant of the revived dive watch from the revived Swiss brand. The model goes back to 1965 when it was introduced. At the time it was the very first diver to be rated for a depth of 1,000 meters / 3,300 feet, which was quite unique. And even today divers with those specs belong to the more serious ones.

The 120-clicks bezel is unidirectional and the watch has a helium escape valve to release this gas after decompression. Furthermore, the hand and hours markers are coated with luminescent material. And the hour markers have a specific font that makes the 6 and 9 looks like Pac-man, so it is sometimes identified as the Pac-man.

The Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster Bronze has a power reserve of 38 hours

Inside is an automatic Soprod caliber P024 with a power reserve of 38 hours. It is the same movement as used in the Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster Green Bezel that was released last year. That model comes in stainless steel, this new Depthmaster comes in bronze. It’s called “CuAl8” which is a copper-aluminium alloy (92% / 8%) which is more corrosion resistant than “pure” bronze. And it has a comparable way of developing its own patina over time.

The Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster Bronze is available with seven different straps, from rubber or leather. All with a bronze ardillon buckle.
