The Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm is an addition to the Spirit Zulu line already available in 42 millimeters. But where the case sizes used to be big and bold, at least 42 millimeters and more, the new trend is to go more subtle, below 40 millimeters. It’s all about fulfilling the customer’s demand.
Apart from 3 millimeters this new model doesn’t differ that much from its bigger brother. There are 4 color variants: 3 in full steel and 1 in steel with yellow gold. Dials are in anthracite or blue, there’s one with a green bezel and all the models come either with a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. Only the steel-gold version has an option to go for a NATO strap.
The Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm offers a power reserve of 72 hours
Like the 42-millimeter version this Longines Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm is also equipped with the automatic Longines caliber L844.4. It is a COSC certified GMT workhorse offering a power reserve of 72 hours.
The GMT hand has the same color as the dial – black/anthracite or blue – and only its tip is clearly visible. Do you like the model but rather go for a chronograph? That’s also available within the Spirit series, with 2 or 3 sub dials and more or less the same color scheme.
