This Longines Pilot Majetek is a vintage-inspired pilot watch that has its roots in a 1935 model from Longines. This year they registered a curved cushion shaped pilot watch at the International Industrial Property Office in Bern, Switzerland. So this year is engraved at the side of the case. A nice detail.

The case is a 43-millimeter stainless steel cushion shaped model with a screw-in case back. It can withstand 10 bar of water pressure. The watch has an external fluted bidirectional rotating bezel with triangular marker to indicate the start of a certain time a pilot wants to measure. The hands are rhodium plated, on an matt black dial, and small seconds on the sub dial at 6 o’clock.

The Longines Pilot Majetek has a power reserve of 72 hours

Inside is the Longines caliber L893.6 which supplies a magnetic resistant silicon balance spring. This automatic movement delivers a power reserve of 72 hours and it is COSC certified.

The Longines Pilot Majetek comes in three different versions. You can choose from a brown leather or dark green leather strap, or a khaki green Nato strap. And if you wonder where the name Majetek comes from: it is Czech for Military Property, kind of. In the 1930s Longines made pilot watches for the Czech Air Force, and those watches had “majetek vojenske spravy” printed on the case back: loosely translated as “property of the military”.
