The Longines Legend Diver is back. This time, in a 39 millimeter case. The brand originally launched the Legend Diver in 2007, a design influenced by the 1959 Longines Diver ref. 7042. Since then, its unique two screw-down crowns and internal rotating bezel are the main features of this diver. There are already 36- and 42-millimeter versions available, in several colors, but now it also sports 39 millimeters in either black or blue.
The case is stainless steel, not Super Compressor anymore like the ref. 7042, but the watch is COSC certified. And can go down into the water up to 300 meters / 990 feet. It has a screw-down case back, and you can adjust the internal rotating bezel with the upper crown. Whatever you are doing under water, the bezel won’t move – what can happen with a conventional bezel when you bump into a rock or big fish. You never know.
The Longines Legend Diver 39 mm has a power reserve of 72 hours
Inside the Longines Legend Diver 39 mm runs the automatic Longines caliber L888.6. A new movement specifically for these models. It is equipped with a silicon balance spring and innovative components, offering a magnetic resistance ten times bigger than the ISO 764 benchmark standard. It beats at a frequency of 25,200 vph and offers a power reserve of 72 hours.
There are four reference numbers for this watch, so far. There is a black dial either secured with a leather strap or stainless steel bracelet. Or you can have a blue dial version, secured with either a NATO strap or a stainless steel bracelet.
