The Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer 39 mm is the kind of watch you want to wear reversed, as the techniques that are used are a kind of miraculous. And most of these techniques are visible through the sapphire case back. Although the front of this time pieces showcases some bits of the work inside.

For some the Central Impulse Chronometer in 44 millimeters is a little big, the new 39-millimeter opens up for a broader audience. If you don’t look at the price, that is. Which is the same as the 44-miilimeter version – the differences in euro, dollar and pound prices are created by the daily changing rates of those currencies related to the Swiss Franc. Back to the watch.

Two gold colors, two dial colors for this Lederer CIC

For now, the Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer 39 mm will be available in either white gold or rose gold. The white gold version comes with a blue dial while the rose gold has a grey dial. The design is plain, but your eyes will be attracted by the two sub dials. Both sub dials feature a seconds hand, explained later.

Where those sub dials are open-worked on the 44-millimeter, here the top sub dial is open-worked, the bottom one is closed. It gives somewhat more visual calmness although it didn’t need it. But it distinguishes this model a bit more from its bigger brother.

The Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer 39 mm has a power reserve of 38 hours

The movement is a slimmer, and probably even more improved version of the Lederer caliber 9012 used in the 43-millimeter versions. It’s more than 4 millimeters smaller in diameter and 1 millimeter thinner. However, it is still COSC certified as a dual chronometer. It has two independent escapement wheels and a constant-force remontoire in each of the two independent gear trains. These gear trains each have their own independent barrel, all together showing double small seconds on the dial side. This construction brings the accuracy of this watch to the highest level. And still provides a power reserve of 38 hours.

All component decorations are done by hand, including making the dial and hands. The movement has very fine finishes, like top and bottom surface graining, bead blasting, hand polished and beveled edges, and more. You can get it on a brown or black leather strap.
