The IWC Portugieser Chronograph Year of the Dragon is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces embracing the Year of the Dragon. Which is part of the Chinese calendar and this year starts on the 10th of February. According to the Chinese calendar, the Year of the Dragon symbolizes luck, prosperity, and economic success.
The Portugieser line was originally released in 1998, so you might know the model, as it hasn’t had much changes. Why change what’s good, right? This one has a 41-millimeter stainless steel case displaying a burgundy dial. A color that somehow suits this special edition for the Year of the Dragon. It has gold-plated hour and minute hands and gold-plated hour-markers which perfectly match the burgundy color.
The IWC Portugieser Chronograph Year of the Dragon has a power reserve of 46 hours
Underneath is an automatic IWC caliber 69355 equipped with a chronograph. It is unveiled through its transparent case back along with its distinguished gold-plated rotor. Which is crafted in the shape of a dragon figure. There is also an engraved marking of “2024 YEAR OF THE DRAGON” at the back of the case. The power reserve of the movement is 46 hours.
The IWC Portugieser Chronograph Year of the Dragon comes with two straps. A black calfskin strap and a burgundy rubber strap. Both secured with a butterfly clasp.
