The Hamilton Khaki Navy Frogman appeared in the movie The Frogmen in 1951
The Frogmen was based on a true story of US naval divers during World War II as they prepared safe landings for supplies and troops on hostile shores. The design of the watch was inspired on the shape of a canteen, as the Frogman diver was developed for the American Marine. Hamilton was founded in 1892 and at that time specialized in making watches for the American army. So there is the connection.

The original Frogman evolved in a new Frogman in 2006 and this Navy Frogman 2016 is a further improvement of the diver. Basic materials like titanium and rubber, the 46 millimetre case, a red unidirectional rotating bezel and equipped with a stunning crown-protection device: it has become a rock-solid diver. The Frogman 2016 is water-resistant to 1000 meters / 100 bar and has a helium valve to equal out internal and external pressures in saturation diving conditions. Inside is the H-10 caliber with a 80-hour power reserve.
Is 46 millimetres too big for you? The collection also comprises 42 millimetres stainless steel versions. These models are available in two colors, with a blue or black bezel (as well as matching dial and strap).
