The Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Chronograph 8Tech is the newest member of the Laureato Absolute collection. First launched in 2019, with the use of advanced materials, it is now housed in a case from carbon fibres blended with lightweight titanium powder. This forms 0.05-millimeter thin layers that are super-imposed upon one another forming stacks that are each orientated differently. The result is then cut into octagons for the 44-millimeter case. It’s the 8Tech part.

It has an octagonal bezel, the signature of the Laureato series, and displays a gradient grey dial that matches the baton hands filled with grey PVD treatment and a white luminous effect. Along with its titanium counters and indexes, plus a tiny date-window located between 4 and 5 o’clock. All protected with sapphire and water resistant to 100 meters.

Inside the Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Chronograph 8Tech is the automatic GP03300-1058 caliber which can be admired through the sapphire case back. It is equipped with a chronograph complication and has a power reserve of 46 hours.

This timepiece comes on a black rubber strap showcasing a fabric-effect look and grey stitches. A titanium folding buckle with black PVD treatment secures the strap. And it has a micro adjustment system for easy sizing of the straps.
