Italian luxury brand Bulgari releases the Bulgari Octo Roma Chronograph, an addition to the Octo Roma series that carries the design of ancient Roman buildings. Really? Well, Bulgari is from Rome, that’s for sure. And the octagonal shapes that have been integrated in the watch can also be found in the old Roman architecture.

We quote: “The octagonal shape has a rich history in Italian architecture, appearing in iconic structures such as the Pantheon and the works of Leonardo da Vinci; in particular, the eight-sided geometry characterizes the vaults of the Basilica of Maxentius, built in the 4th century on one of Rome’s most important architectural sites.” Far sighted? Maybe…

The pushers of the Bulgari Octo Roma Chronograph are subtly integrated in the case

An octagonal case is not very unique however very recognizable. Bulgari launched this shape for their Octo series in 2012 which makes it a part of the signature of the series by now. For this 42-millimeter stainless steel version they created a chronograph with pushers that are subtly integrated in the case. The model is available in two colors: with a black dial or with a blue dial.

Inside the Bulgari Octo Roma Chronograph is an in-house caliber BVL 399, an automatic with a Dubois-Depraz module for the chronograph. The automatic has a power reserve of 42 hours and you can see it through the transparent case back.

The watch comes on a stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp and you will get an additional rubber strap matching the color of the dial. The interchangeable system makes it easy to change straps in a minute.
