When you think of Breitling two things spring to mind: cars and planes, with diving being a close third. Macho could be a word to sum up the accompanying watches and this new Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition is no different.

The already super-masculine Super Avenger watch is now getting an upgrade with one of Breitling’s in-house movements, the caliber B01. The first time the Super Avenger is outfitted with a Breitling-made movement.

The high-performance ‘engine’ is of course officially chronometer certified by the COSC, like all Breitlings. The workhorse has a 48-millimeter stainless steel case and a black dial bearing tone-on-tone chronograph counters. These are enhanced by the “Edition limitée” inscription appearing in red, as well as large luminescent hour-markers and hands.

There is very little that is understated about this watch, especially being one of the larger timepieces from the Swiss brand. But subtlety is probably not what you seek when picking out a Breitling. There really is not one element of the watch that is not rugged, even the chronograph pushers look like they can withstand the apocalypse.

The Breitling Super Avenger 01 Boutique Edition comes on a steel Professional bracelet and has a solid case back with a vintage looking pin-up and a “Special Delivery” engraving. The watch is limited to 100 pieces, exclusively sold at the 60 Breitling boutiques worldwide.
