The Arnold & Son Perpetual Moon 41.5 Red Gold Year of the Dragon is the second model the brand is dedicating to the Chinese new year. That year starts on the 10^th of February 2024 and the Wooden Dragon is the symbol of this year’s Chinese zodiac calendar. The other model is the Arnold & Son Luna Magna Red Gold Year of the Dragon with a 3D moon, this model has a large perpetual moon.

It comes black or blue with a dial of aventurine glass. Which is a quartz material that has translucency and platy mineral inclusions. Which gives the dial a shimmering or glistening effect. A&S has strengthened that effect with metallic powder to give the dial and background of the moon a star-studded air. The dragon in 18-carat 4N red gold is draped underneath the moon phase.

Inside is the hand-wound Arnold & Son caliber A&S1512 which is executed with a double moon phase. The front shows a rendered moon phase and the back shows a moon phase indicator. The latter to adjust the moon phase as precise as possible. Although the moon phase mechanism of this movement is extremely accurate. Adjustment is only needed once every 122 year when you keep your watch wounded. Thanks to two barrels is sports a power reserve of 90 hours.

Both watches come on an alligator leather strap with red alligator leather lining, hand-stitched. One in spangled black, the other in ink blue, with a 18-carat 5N red gold pin buckle.
