This Arnold & Son Luna Magna Red Gold Year of the Dragon is released to celebrate a new Chinese year. It is the year of the Wooden Dragon. Which is why there is a large dragon on the dial side that surround a 3D moon and the sub dial with the time. And there are two versions: a black version with onyx elements and a blue version with pietersite elements.
Pietersite is a variety of the mineral chalcedony that can have different colors, like this blue with veining. This material is used on the dial and on the 3D moon. Onyx is from the same mineral family and can have a dark black hue, which you can see on the dial and 3D moon of that version. Of course, the main attraction is the huge dragon sculpted from 18-carat 5N red gold – just like the case. The oriental-style dragon is hand-engraved and is this year’s symbol of the Chinese zodiac calendar that starts at the 10th of February 2024.

Arnold & Son’s hand-wound in-house caliber A&S1021 drives the watch. This movement is specially built around the 3D moon. It has a circular-grained main plate, and bridges with radiating angled Côtes de Genève stripes. The indicator of the moon phase on the back is adorned with circular satin-finish. This one forms a secondary display of the moon’s age. The power reserve is 90 hours.
