The Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot Titanium is a tribute to the founder of the 150-year-old Swiss watch brand: mr. Georges Favre-Jacot. At the age of 22, he started his watch brand in Le Locle and this year (2015) it is exactly 150 years ago.
Earlier Zenith launched a model called Academy Georges Favre-Jacot, in rose gold: this special edition its case is made of brushed titanium. This new model has a much sportier appearance. The partially open dial offers a magnificent view at (the operation of) the timepiece. The entire watch is composed out of no fewer than 939 parts and is one of the absolute top models of technical ingenuity. Well, the price is also top.
El Primero for the Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot Titanium
Inside the Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot Titanium is the famous El Primero caliber (4810 C) by Zenith. The watch has a power-reserve of 50 hours. The case has a diameter of 46 millimeters, is 14.05 millimeters thick and has a rear lid of sapphire crystal glass. The hands and hour indicators are coated with rhodium that lights in the dark. The seconds are displayed on a separate part of the dial, as well as the power reserve.
The strap is made from alligator leather, in black, with a thin rubber coating to preserve it. The folding clasp is made of titanium. The Zenith Academy Georges Favre-Jacot Titanium is limited to 150 pieces.
