The Vulcain Cricket Style Moderne for Revolution & The Rake is a new-released special version of the Cricket model. This time in a collaboration with Revolution and The Rake, watch magazines and retailers. Comparable with what Vulcain did with CronotempVs. This Style Moderne model features an unique two-tone semi-matte dial which is inspired from the art deco design or “Style Moderne” as they used to call it in the ancient watch making days. A 1930s design style that was adopted by many brands at the time and later in time as well.

The Vulcain Cricket was launched in 1947 and was possibly the world’s first mechanical alarm watch. Like most watches in that period it was fitted with a 36-millimeter case and a big crown. This new Cricket is crafted in a 39-millimeter stainless steel case with a two-toned Bellini and anthracite-colored dial with a sector track on the edge. Also very 1930s. The white rhodium applied Arabic numerals and hour markers create a special effect as the 3 and 9 are oriented horizontally.

Inside the Vulcain Cricket Style Moderne for Revolution & The Rake is a manual winding Vulcain caliber V-10 which provides a 42 hour power reserve, and with an alarm function. That works in the classic way with a hammer that hits an internal membrane incorporated into the watch’s double case back. The alarm, created in a way a cricket produces its sound, can last for 20 seconds and therefor the watch has two barrels to juice it.
