The Rolex Deepsea Yellow Gold is the first extreme diving Rolex timepiece ever that comes in gold. Who would have thought of a watch having a water resistance of 3,900 meters / 12,800 feet that is almost solid 18-carat gold? It might help you to sink under water, the shininess might attract some undiscovered sea creatures, but above all it’s a huge statement.

The almost legendary diver’s watch has a case made of 18 ct yellow gold measuring 44 millimeters. The bezel in bright blue is from a ceramic alloy called Cerachrom with a ceramic insert. It is 60-minute graduated, unidirectional rotatable and has a triangular ‘zero’ marker with luminous effect. To obtain a graduation effect on the bezel is it PVD coated with a thin layer of yellow gold.

Magic blue dial

The dial has this magical deep sea blue hue with the “DEEPSEA” logo shaded in powdered yellow. Moreover, the large hour markers and hands have Rolex’ luminous effect called Chromalight. Which glows up twice as long as regular luminova.

To ensure its diving capabilities the Deepsea has a so called Ringlock System case architecture with helium escape valve. The screw-down crown has a triplock triple waterproofness system, the screw-down case back is from titanium. Together with 5.5-millimeter thick sapphire you can reach depths of 3,900 meters / 12,800 feet. Which is just impressive.

The Rolex Deepsea Yellow Gold has a power reserve of 70 hours

The watch runs on an automatic Rolex caliber 3235. You might know this movement from the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller for instance. It is a Superlative Chronometer, which is above COSC certification, and offers a power reserve of of 70 hours.

The Rolex Deepsea Yellow Gold comes on an Oyster, three-piece solid links 18 ct yellow gold bracelet. And it is secured with a folding Oysterlock safety clasp with Rolex Glidelock extension system.
