The Greubel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe Carbon 42.5 mm is the follow-up of the two titanium versions that were released earlier. There is a 43.5-millimeter from 2022, limited to 66 pieces, and a 42.5-millimeter limited to 88 pieces. This new version is the same but now dressed in carbon. Durable and light, limited to 22 pieces per color from which the last pieces will be ready in 2026.

The main attraction is the construction of the two balance wheels, inclined in 30 degrees and linked by a constant spherical differential. Also visible, between the 6 and 7 o’clock position. Energy is distributed to the two of them by an individual mechanism, delivered from coaxial series-coupled fast-rotating barrels. It’s driven through a normal u-train from the center wheel to a third wheel and this third wheel engages a differential mechanism. That differential mechanism actually directs energy to the balance wheels. The balance wheels are also equipped with two parachutes, one for each wheel that helps to protect the hairspring in case of shocks.

The Greubel Forsey Double Balancier Convexe Carbon 42.5 mm has a power reserve of 72 hours

It’s case is not only from carbon, there is also titanium and the synthetic sapphire crystal is curved. Together with the setup of parts visible on the dial side, it gives a stunning 3D effect. Which is strengthened by the three-dimensional, variable geometry-shaped bezel, that is hand-finished. The transparent back is also from curved synthetic sapphire crystal.

This Double Balancier Convexe renders two variants from which the first one displays a green finish with a lot of blue hues. This is matched with a rubber strap in the same colors, with a titanium and carbon folding clasp. The second one showcases a black tone that matches the carbon material and it is complimented with a black rubber strap.
