The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Extra-Thin Yellow Gold is another variation of the Extra-Thin Royal Oak with 39-millimeter case. It is already available in pink gold and stainless steel, released in 2012, and AP is kind of renewing some of their models in yellow gold. Let’s take a look at this Jumbo, as aficionados call it.
A great thing is the movement. It’s Audemars Piguet’s caliber 2121 which is the same as in the original Royal Oak launched in 1972. Yes, it is very, very reliable. It offers a power-reserve of 40 hours and features hours, minutes and date. And it’s thin: only 3.05 millimeters, and therefor the case measures only 8.1 millimeters in thickness.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Extra-Thin Yellow Gold still has the 1972 AP caliber 2121
The main plate and bridges are manually finished with polished bevels, satin-brushed edges and perlage on the recesses. If you want, the oscillating weight can be custom decorated upon your request.
You can choose between two dials with “Petite Tapisserie” pattern on it: a blue or yellow gold one.
