The Arnold & Son Instrument DSTB Steel Blue is part of the Instrument collection and features, like any other Arnold & Son model, a manufacture movement. It is the fifth DSTB model and the most affordable one, as it isn’t a limited edition.

DSTB means Dial Side True Beat. For the layman who doesn’t know about the true-beat seconds complication: the complication marks each second with a small jump of the hand instead of a sweeping motion.

Arnold & Son presents the true beats seconds mechanism entirely on the dial at the 11 o’clock position. The hours and minute are off-centered at the 4 o’clock position. As said, there are five DSTB models now:

• Reference 1ATAR.L01A.C120A with red gold case and grey and white dial (250th Anniversary model, limited to 50 pieces)
• Reference 1ATAW.L04A.C121W with white gold case and blue dial and white dial (125 pieces)
• Reference 1ATAS.S02A.C121S with steel case and black and white dial (250 pieces)

This Arnold & Son Instrument DSTB Steel Blue is a bit more accessible with the stainless steel case. But only just a bit, you can still buy quite a nice car for the price of the new stainless steel version.
