The Breitling Navitimer 01 (46 mm) Limited Edition Panamerican Black is the fifth limited edition within the 46-millimeters Navitimer 01 collection. When we count. Breitling shows five ‘basic’ limited editions on their website and one with diamonds on it. Six in total. But two of those basic versions only differ by the strap or bracelet, we don’t count that.

The Navitimer 01 (46 mm) is the bigger brother of the standard Navitimer 01 which measures 43 millimeters. They share the Breitling B01 movement. This 46-millimeters version comes in four regular versions and, like we said, five limited editions. Let’s not argue on the number of limited editions produced, as each color scheme with another case material seems to be a limited edition. And there are so many limited editions that there is a risk they outnumber the regular versions. So yes, it’s marketing, but we don’t care as long as the model looks good.

It does. This Panamerican Black version looks very good. We are not a fan of gold and shiny watches when it comes to high-end ‘work watches’ like the Navitimer. The Navitimer is a pilot with roots in the 1950s. It is there to calculate critical flight information, such as fuel consumption, airspeed, flight time and distance. All at a glance. Which is a little harder with this black-brown color scheme. But this version has all the bits: a solid stainless steel case and all the functionalities a Navitimer should have. Great. And Breitling makes only 1,000 pieces of it. Do you care? Go for the one with the brown leather strap and dream of flying an F-100 Super Sabre…
